Starting off the Summer

We have been loving this beautiful Washington summer weather!!! Aidan's godfather, Kevin, came to visit us last week. We had such a great time!!! He brought with him Aidan's present. I was expecting an outfit or baby toy, but oh no, not Kevin...He brought him speakers and an IPod for his room. LOL He's hilarious. Here are some pics of that weekend.

Roll Over

Yesterday was a big day for the little guy. He finally got sick and tired of being stuck on his belly so he decided to roll over. I was stuck at work, but LB recorded for all to see. Just so you know, she gets a bit excited in the background!

Mother's Day

Our first Mother's Day was an exciting time. LB got new locket that she seems to enjoy very much. It's no ordinary locket either- it holds 4 pictures! Aidan's gift for Mother's Day was being all smiles and giggles through the morning. He decided by the afternoon that he had given enough so he made up for the morning with an afternoon full of unhappiness. It turned out okay, though, because LB thinks his angry face is quite cute!

We feasted on burgers and fries at Red Robin for lunch and then joined some friends that evening for a Mother's Day cookout. I think it was a pretty good day. We'd also like to say that we both miss our mothers. We hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day and we're grateful for all that you've done for us.

House #2

Thought some people might want an update on our housing situation. The house that we put an offer on a couple of weeks ago is a no go. After the inspection we found out it needed a new roof and some framing to the roof as well. This was going to be around a $12,000 project. We asked the owner to take care of it. He got a bid and said that he would do the roofing but not the framing and then also said we would have to add 7 thousand more on to our offer. So needless to say, we said no thanks, especiall since the main problem with the framing would still be an issue. The good news, however, is that the house we originally liked even more but was a little more than the other one, dropped in price significantly as we were trying to figure out the whole roofing situation. So, we went and looked at it again last night and this morning and decided to put an offer on it. It is a short sale so we might not here for awhile and since it dropped in price we may be looking at other bidders to so we will see. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Here are some pics. It is pretty much move in ready with the exception that I want to paint all the rooms.

4 Months and Counting

It's hard to believe, I know, but Xander is now 4 months old and I think he's getting cooler by the day! Aside from getting kicked out of his first class at church he's achieved some other significant feats in the last week. It was starting to become clear that he was always hungry so we decided to give him some cereal. We had a friend over at the house when we fed him and she told us how it took her kids a while to get used to the idea of swallowing something solid. We expected Xander to spit the stuff out a few times, but we failed to consider that he's my kid. AFter the first spoonful hit his mouth he sat there for a few seconds then took a big gulp. It was all down hill from there. 10 minutes and nearly a 1/4 cup later he decided he was full. As I watched him eat I realized that he will eventually be a teenager. I know how much I ate when I was a teenager and I'm not sure we will be able to keep pace with his growing stomach!

He's also learning that those things at the end of his arms work really well for holding onto things. He will occasionally hold a toy, but he prefers to grab hair or skin, and no matter how often we cut his finger nails he still has enough left to make sure you feel the pinch! He's got to go to the doctor on Wednesday for his 4 month appointment. His stats were average last time, but we'll see if he's packed enough baby fat into those cheeks to bump him up the scale.
